COLLEGE ROWING RECRUITING - GET RECRUITED TO ROW IN COLLEGE

Rowing is a fantastic sport with strong traditions at the Olympic and intercollegiate level. Many young athletes dream of competing at the college level and competing against other rowers from other schools across the nation. The most important thing to do as a prospective college rower is to have a strong 2k Erg test time. It’s a standard test of your ability and is a way for college rowing coaches to rank you against other athletes they are looking to recruit. If you’re serious about being recruited for rowing, you need to train specifically for your 2k Erg test. Your test time is one of the first things college rowing coaches are going to ask for. Here’s some great tips for maximizing your 2k Erg time http://www.ergrowing.com

It’s also very important that you make an online college rowing recruiting profile with all of your academic and athletic achievements as well as your grades and of course your 2k Erg time. This is the best way for college rowing coaches to recruit you.

Unfortunately on the men’s side there are less schools that offer a rowing program and there are no rowing scholarships available.

Rowing coaches want to recruit rowers who are strong academically so they will always remain academically eligible to compete.
