I have held several leadership roles off the field in 4-H over the years and I always try to lead by example on the field by having a positive attitude towards my coaches, teammates, and referees.
I am a naturally positive person which I think impacts my athletic performance as well as that of my teammates. I try to eat healthy everyday and exercise.
I have been a 4-H member since I was 8 years old. I have participated in several community service activities as a 4-H member, but using the sewing skills I have learned in 4-H to help others is one of my favorite ways to impact my community. I have sewed Mediport Pillows for cancer patients at Roswell Park and surgical caps for our local children's hospital. I have participated in a fashion show for the residents of a local nursing home every year since I was 9.
I also volunteer at the Erie County Fair in the 4-H Youth Development Building and in the Cafe each year because I have enjoyed being in 4-H and have learned so much over the years . I want to help the program grow and help others learn about it as an option for their children.
I have volunteered through the Clarence Youth Bureau to help teach younger children about engineering and have helped my high school coaches run a field hockey camp for young girls. I really enjoy sharing the things I am passionate about with others.
I was recently inducted into my high school National Honor Society and have had an opportunity to participate in a variety of community service projects. It is great to know that I am able to have a positive impact on my community through this organization.
