| In the first preseason football poll of 2008, the UMass Minutemen are ranked No. 6 by Any Given Saturday. UMass is one of three CAA teams in the top six of the poll with James Madison at No. 2 and Richmond at No. 3. Delaware comes in at No. 11, Villanova is No. 17 and New Hampshire is No. 20.
