| The Pitt men's track and field team opened its indoor season at Kent State's Golden Flash Gala. Several of Pitt's veteran competitors were successful in their events while a few newcomers emerged as an integral part of the team. Pitt had one finalist in the 60 meters as sophomore Sam Perkins (Kent, Ohio/Kent Roosevelt) came in second with a time of 6.86.
